摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining a minute glass drop below 5 mm in diameter and a method for easily and exactly adjusting the size of the glass drop without exchanging a nozzle. SOLUTION: The method for making the molten glass droplet below 5 mm in diameter consists in bombarding a molten glass drop onto a member provided with a through pore by free fall of the molten glass drop dropped from the nozzle, thereby extruding at least a portion of the glass drop to the rear surface of the through pore as a droplet. The method for manufacturing described above is that the surface for bombarding the molten glass drop of the member provided with the through pore is provided with a taper. The method for producing a microspherical lens, a microspherical blank for press forming and a microoptical element is to cool and solidify the molten glass droplet or drop the same onto a die. The apparatus for making the molten glass droplet includes the nozzle and a member provided with the through pore for dropping at least a portion of the molten glass drop dropped from the nozzle further downward.
