A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to reduce EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference) by applying scan pulses at different times to respective scan electrode groups. A plasma display panel includes scan and sustain electrodes, and address electrodes formed to cross with the scan and sustain electrodes. A frame is divided into plural sub-fields, each of which includes reset, address, and sustain periods(PR,PA,PS). Plural discharge cells in the plasma display panel are divided into plural groups. A preliminary pulse(Vs) with a first polarity and a scan pulse(-Vy1) with a second polarity different from the first polarity are sequentially supplied to scan electrodes(YG1,YG2) of the respective groups. First scan pulses with first and second pulse widths(T1,T2) are applied to the scan electrodes of the respective groups.
