PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily connect a glass rod to an optical cable without deteriorating the utilization efficiency of light and the transmission efficiency of light. SOLUTION: A first cable holder 31 which makes a glass rod 33 to which a resin coat 34 is adhered is closely adhered to the end face of the optical cable 20 so as to fix it and a second cable holder 32 holding the first cable holder 31 and connecting it to a light source device 10 are provided. The resin coat 34 is constituted by material whose refractive index is smaller than the glass rod 33. Since direct heat or radiant heat from a light source 12 is interrupted by the glass rod 33, the softening and deformation of the optical cable 20 can be prevented. Light which is made incident on the glass rode 33 from the light source 12 is totally reflected on the surface of the glass rod 33 and the resin coat 34 and is made incident in the optical cable 20. Thus, incident light prevented from leaking to the external part of the glass rod 33 and the utilization efficiency and the transmission efficiency of light are improved. |
