METHOD OF GLANDERS TREATMENT

FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: method involves subcutaneous administration of doxycyclin hydrochloride (1 mg dissolved in polyglucin at ratio = 1:200) to golden hamsters preliminary infected with P. mallei 10230 at dose 500 m. k. (200 "ЛД"). Before administration drug is kept for 5 h and administration is carried out once per 24 h for 5 days followed by control for at least 30 days. Protective effect is 80%. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment, decreased treatment period, decreased lethality.
