The flying machine with several pairs of flapping wings has these mounted, in tandem and successively phased in opposition, on two parallel, common, rotatable shafts (1, 2). Each shaft carries one wing from each pair, on alternate sides (a, d, a1; b, c, b1). Bearings (5, 6) and gear for rocking the shafts to produce the desired motion are in an underslung framework which also carries the operator.
