[Class 69 (iii)] A self propelling rotary or travelling distributer of the kind in which liquid flows along a conduit having a plurality of outlets along its length is provided with a flexible track, e.g. a chain 26 reeved over a driving element and extending the full length of the path of the distributing conduit. As applied to a rotary distributer the apparatus comprises a rotary central column 10 conveying liquid to one or more radial conduits 13 provided with apertures 14 discharging liquid through weir boxes to distributers 16. Rotation is eftected by a water wheel 20 driving a chain wheel 25 engaging a chain 26 extending circumferentially on the bed. The driving apparatus may be either at the extremity of the conduit or as shown at a point intermediate the column and the end of the conduit.</p> |
