<p>PURPOSE:A pyrogenic composition that is prepared by adding a metal oxide as an auxiliary reaction accelerator and a water-soluble hydrazine inorganic acid salt as a reaction initiator to powdery iron, thus being suitably used for disposable body warmers because it generates heat by reaction with oxygen and water at high temperatures for many hours. CONSTITUTION:(A) Powdery or particulate iron and (B) a chloride or sulfate of metal, preferably of metal having a higher ionization tendency than iron such as an alkali or alkaline earth metal as a reaction accelerator are used as the effective components and they are combined with (C) a metal oxide, preferably an oxide of copper or manganese, as an auxiliary reaction accelerator and (D) a water-soluble hydrazine inorganic acid salt such as hydrazine hydrochloride to produce the objective composition that generates heat by reaction with water and oxygen. The preferable proportion of component A-D is 100:0.5-20:1-20: more than 0.5 by weight.</p> |
