A fire protection system comprising one or more water power driven foam generators each comprising a horizontally arranged impeller located above a cylindrical perforated screen housing and having a central hollow shaft passing vertically therethrough is located in a cylindrical chimney having an internal horizontally arranged annulus forming a baffle at approximately its mid height, the generator being so positioned that the impeller is above the level of the baffle whilst the screen is below, a conduit being led from below to the hollow shaft so that liquid is fed upwardly to the impeller, which latter draws in air from above, the chimney being supported on a pan and having lower outlets for the discharge of foam from the impeller. <IMAGE> |
