PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce interference between adjacent tracks during the header reproduction operation of an optical disk by forming an embossed header format on a bilevel optical medium. SOLUTION: An optical system 10 is provided with a semiconductor laser 16, and the semiconductor laser 16 sends laser beams through a collimator lens 18 and a beam divider 20. The beam divider 20 divides light, a part of the light proceeds to the optical disk as it is and a remaining part advances to the detection part of the optical system 10. The part of the light proceeding to the optical disk 12 is passed through an objective lens 22, then converged into a sharp point, sufficiently reflected on the surface of the optical disk 12, returned through the objective lens 22, reflected on a mirror inside the beam divider 20 and turned to a detector 24. The detector 24 and an amplifier 26 connected to the detector 24 process the light emitted from the laser 16 and reflected on the optical disk 12 and it is converted into electric signals on a line 28. |
