A roller skate has two or more normally aligned wheels, which can be steered when the skate is tilted sideways. The front wheel (6) and the rear wheel (11) are mounted on respective steerable supports (3, 8) pivoting about respective axes (4, 9) perpendicular to a base plate attached to or integral with a shoe (2). The two supports (3, 8) are connected by a laterally flexible blade. The blade preferably carries two adjacent intermediate wheels (20, 21) which project laterally from the geometrical envelope of the front and rear wheel transverse profiles. When the skate is tilted, one of the intermediate wheels moves sideways towards the centre plane and bends the blade (3) thereby pivoting the two steerable wheels (6, 11).
