<p>Pre-thickened raw or foul sludge is heated to 180 deg C, changing the inner structure and the biological components. The solid substances are subjected to a high-pressure dewatering process without further additives and are dewatered to a high level. The highly dewatered sludge is introduced into a pressurized fluid bed reactor where it is heated in an oxygen-deficient atmosphere to produce a product gas. The product gas is used for the generation of electricity. The effluent heat from the fluidized bed reactor and from the electrical generator is surrendered to a closed pipe system which surrenders heat through heat exchangers. The surrendered heat is used to preheat pre-thickened fresh incoming sludge. An Independent claim is included for a dewatering apparatus comprises a sludge heater, a high pressure dewatering plant, a fluidized bed reactor and an electrical generator.</p> |
