摘要 PURPOSE: Dry distillation apparatus and method for a radioactive isotope I-131 production are provided to simplify processing procedures, shorten a processing time and reduce the amount of radioactive wastes. CONSTITUTION: An electric furnace(3) has a temperature control device(5) and a power supply(7). A distillation container(11) containing a TeO2 target(13) is disposed in the furnace. An I-131 collector(17) is communicated with the distillation container. A plurality of waste-gas collectors(12) are communicated with the I-131 collector. A solution input container(27) is communicated with the I-131 collector and a taking-out container(23) therebetween through a first cock valve(25). The electric furnace includes a heat transferring part disposed inside a case. More heat transferring coils are wound around the upper portion of the heat transferring part than the lower portion thereof. An insulation member covers the side and top surfaces of the heating transferring part while contacting to the distillation container. A temperature sensor penetrates the insulation member to measure the temperature in the heat transferring part. A plate spring(39) is mounted on the case to support a lower flange of the distillation container.
