摘要 PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of polymer alignment layer of LCD manufactures a polymer optical alignment layer by evaporating polymers for photonics with polymerization method and controls the amount of monomer used in the polymer formation or the temperature of a substrate to adjust the pretilt angle easily. CONSTITUTION: In the first evaporation process, a diazo compound and a dianhydrid compound are coated simultaneously on an ITO-coated transparent electrode with the same vaporization speed in the vacuum evaporation. At this time, the evaporation speed is in the range of 0.1 to 0.2 angstrom/second and the entire width is in the range of 600 to 700 angstrom. After the second evaporation process, the evaporated polymer layer is formed by applying heat processing and exposing with non polarized-ultraviolet ray. Therefore, impurity isn't generated in the processes and thickness of thin film is freely adjusted, because the polymer alignment layer is formed under vacuum and the damage of alignment layer caused during the rubbing process is prevented.
