METHOD FOR ROLLING SHAPE HAVING FLANGE AND ROLLING DEVICE TRAIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture shapes having flanges excellent in dimensional accuracy and surface property of plural product series without changing rolls. SOLUTION: Rough rolling is finished so as to form a cross section having a smaller ratio of the thickness of a flange to the thickness of the web of a material to be rolled than that of a product and the thicknesses of the web and flange are reduced with a rough universal rolling mill. With an edger mill which is in proximity to at least the rough universal rolling mill succeeding to a roughing mill and the depth of the caliber of which is freely adjustable, the width of the flange is reduced adjusting the depth of the caliber for each pass in accordance with the change of the leg length of the flange of the material to be rolled.
