<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp for improving mechanical strength of a terminal deriving part of external electrodes, and a luminaire using this fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp has a pair of electrodes comprising at least one external electrodes 4 arranged on an outside surface of a light transmissive airtight vessel 1 so as to cause discharge in the light transmissive airtight vessel 1 sealed with a discharge medium mainly composed of rare gas, and arranging a phosphor layer on the inside surface side, and external lead wires 5 having a base end part 5a embedded in an end part of the light transmissive airtight vessel 1 without being exposed inside the light transmissive airtight vessel 1, and having an intermediate part 5b folded back along the light transmissive airtight vessel 1, and having a tip part 5c connected to one end part of the external electrodes 4. The external lead wires 5 may be separately arrnged in one end part of the light transmissive airtight vessel 1, and may be dispersively arranged in both end parts.</p> |
