Method for communication with a test system for integrated circuits in which high level language program commands are converted into low level language commands. Accordingly an independent interface program (7, 9) is provided that is specific to a test system (1, 4). The interface program is suitable for converting between high and low level code or vice versa. Low and high level programs are exclusively linked via the interface program.
