An inkjet printer (10) discharges a continual stream (30) of ink through an outlet (18) in the wall (16) of an ink chamber (12). The stream of ink droplets is deflected by electrical forces. The ink chamber incorporates an electrode (20) near the outlet and maintains a constant voltage between the electrode and wall.
