SPEED CONTROLLER FOR MOTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability by employing a thick winding in motor thereby decreasing the number of turns and suppressing disconnection and to realize a wide range speed control while reducing noise. SOLUTION: Motor torque is varied by phase control through a bidirectional thyristor thus controlling the motor speed. Series circuit of the main winding 2 of motor 1 and a first bidirectional thyristor 5a is connected in parallel with the series circuit of a capacitor 4 and a second bidirectional thyristor 5b. It is then connected in series with an auxiliary winding 3 and a voltage is applied to the motor 1 from an AC power supply 6. Motor speed is controlled by controlling the phase through first and second bidirectional thyristor 5a, 5b.
