PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stenting device for treating glaucoma that is faster, safer, and less expensive than currently available methods.SOLUTION: A trabecular stenting device 30 passing through a trabecular meshwork 21 for establishing an outflow pathway comprises a snorkel 32 and a main body portion or blade 34. The snorkel 32 and blade 34 are mechanically connected to or in mechanical communication with each other. The stent 30 and/or the body portion 34 has a generally longitudinal axis 36. A seat 38 is generally circular in shape and has an upper surface 44 and a lower surface 46 which abuts or rests against the trabecular meshwork 21 to stabilize the glaucoma stent 30 within an eye 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
