Process for joining contact shoe to electrical cable, using multi-stranded wire

The electrical cable connector is in the form of a metal shoe 2 that has a section 2a that is fitted using a pressing operation around the multiple strands of the wire 3. With the shoe mounted correctly it is inserted between the electrodes 6,7 of a resistance welding machine. The upper electrode makes direct contact with exposed end of the wire while the other engages the shoe.
