The lower links 11 of a tractor power lift mechanism support a transverse drawbar 19 which has a post 15 connected to the tractor by a double bar 16 and which carries an upper clevis 21 and a lower hook 23 for coupling a trailer. A bevel gearbox 22 is also carried by the drawbar 19 and connected to the power-takeoff of the tractor. The hook 23 is supported by plates 25 and, in use, is lifted by the power lift to engage and lift the trailer coupling whereafter the linkage is braced by a rod 27 which has a slot 29 engaging a pin 30 on the bar 16 so that the power lift is relieved of load. In an embodiment the upper bar 16 and rod 27 are replaced by a triangular plate the lower corner of which supports the hook and which is coupled to the tractor by a telescoping member having a spring loaded pin by means of which the linkage is braced in its lifted position. Bars extending laterally from the drawbar 19 and from beneath the tractor body connect an implement at the side of the tractor. |
