A lifting device for a drawer cabinet is characterized by a carrier, inserted in place of a drawer, having openings for receiving the forks of a lift truck. As shown the cabinet has a casing 1 and a number of drawers 2 which may be locked in a closed position by a lock 3. The lowermost drawer 2 is removed and lateral guide rails 5 of a carrier are inserted into guide rails 4 for the drawer 2. The guide rails 5 are welded together with cross rails 6 to form a frame. U-shaped stirrups 7 stiffened by struttings 8 provide openings for forks 9 of a lift truck. Apertures 10 in the rear wall of the casing 1 enable the forks 9 to be introduced from the rear as well as from the front of the casing 1. The carrier and the remaining drawer 2 may be locked in the casing 1 by the lock 3. |
