Combined blower-beater mill e.g. for crude lignite - has shaft groove mounted beater arms fixed by circumferentially distributed longitudinal bolts

The shaft (1) is fitted with sets of beater arms (8) terminating in beater heads (7). On the same shaft the impeller (3) of the blower is mounted. The beater arms (8) are fitted in circular grooves provided at certain axial distances on the shaft. The end of the beater arm at the shaft is extended to accommodate two fixing bolts (9) for each arm. The bolts distributed around the circumference of the shaft extend over the entire length of the shaft which carry sets of beater arms. The beater mill is used mainly for crushing and drying lignite prior to conveying it to combustion chambers of boilers. The beater mill with increased operation safety even in cases where the shaft becomes distorted.
