PURPOSE:To efficiently carry out the positioning of a tank onto a new hull by making the new hull with a mount fitted to the side wall of a hold half-submerged, and after the support frame on the side of the tank floating on the sea is engaged with the mount in the hold, making the new hull to be floated up. CONSTITUTION:A new hull 1 is built in such a condition that one side of a hold is open, there in no lateral bulkhead, and a mount 7 for an LNG storage tank 3 is provided to a side wall 3 of the hold, and such hull is half-submerged on the sea. The LNG storage tank 3 having a support frame around it which corresponds to the mount 7 in the side wall of the hold is floated on the sea. Then, the floating tank 3 is drawn into the hold with the tank support frame engaged with the mount 7, and the hull is raised to complete the transfer of the tank to the new hull. Because of the mount 7 and support frame, the transfer and positioning of the tank can be done easily and efficiently.
