PURPOSE:To attain both projection and writing of a picture on a projection screen and writing of characters of display of the picture on the screen with a simple and natural feeling drawing means linke a felt pen, etc. CONSTITUTION:A video signal processor 1 including a video recording means projects pictures on a face surface 3 of a projection CRT2 serving as a picture reproducer. These picture are projected with magnification on a transmission type projection screen 8 via the 1st optical system 4. While characters or patterns can be written on the screen 8 with a simple drawing means like a felt pen 10, etc. These characters and patterns on the screen are picked up by an image pickup device 13 via the 2nd optical system 11. The picture information picked up by the device 13 is converted into electric signals within the device 13 and processed by the processor 1 to be supplied to a video recording means for recording. Then this recorded information is reproduced and applied to the input of the CRT2 to be reproduced as the magnified pictures.
