PURPOSE:To make it difficult to cause defects in coating at the time of manufacture by incorporating at least one of bisazo type compounds or phthalocyanine type compounds and at least one of polycyclic quinone type compounds in an electric charge generating layer and specifying its thickness. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer contains at least one of the bisazo type compounds or phthalocyanine type compounds and at least one of the polycyclic quinone type compounds, and the layer has film thickness of 0.5-5mum, preferably, 0.5-3mum, thus permitting the best electrophotographic characteristics to be obtained, and coating defects to be made difficult to occur at the time of manufacture because a comparatively thick film can be made. In addition, a preferable weight ratio of the charge generating material to a binder resin is 100:0-100:500. |
