The piezoelectric converter includes a series inductance (L1), a piezoelectric ceramic (6) and a rectifier circuit (8). The primary side and the secondary side of the ceramic are coupled to an impedance transformation unit. Preferably, the impedance transformation unit is a resonance transformation unit, a magnetic transformation unit or a combination of both. The ceramic consists of one piece of a laminate of thin plates whose metallizations on the primary side and the secondary side are connected in parallel.
