PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and automatically decide the priority of two systems such as the active system and the passive system and to realize precise focusing at a high speed under all photographing conditions. SOLUTION: This range-finding device of a camera consists of both the active system AF to measure the distance to a subject based on a signal obtained by receiving signal light reflected from the subject when light for range-finding is projected toward the subject and the passive system AF to measure the distance to the subject by using a light receiving signal corresponding to a subject image. A range-finding action is executed by switching the priority of both systems in response to the output of a photographing state detection part 9. |
