PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample holder and sample fixing method to accurately and easily perform the fixing and positioning of a sample. SOLUTION: A sample holder is composed of the polymer filling container 5 arranged on a sample state 55 in an easily detachable manner as a pedestal, the heat-softenable polymer 502 charged in the polymer filling container 501 as a heat-softenable viscous substance and a heater 503 being a heating means for heating the heat-softenable polymer 502. The heater 503 receives power from a power supply device 504 to generate heat. A sample 52 is fixed by embedding a part thereof in the surface of the heat-softenable polymer 502.
