System to dry bands of sized warp yarns has an initial contact drying stage and a final convection drying action, to give smooth warps without loss of stretch to prevent warp breaks during weaving

The system to dry a band of sized warp yarns (1), for winding on to a warp beam (9), has an initial drying stage at a contact dryer (2) and a final drying stage through a convection dryer (3). During the drying of sized warps, in a band, the initial drying stage sets the yarns with a residual moisture content of 50-60% of the dry weight, using a contact temperature of 100-140 deg C. Hot air is used in the final drying stage, at a temperature of 120-200 deg C, in a cross-flow dryer.
