An LED(Light Emitting Diode) is provided to enhance display quality by preventing bright defects from being generated due to leakage current at pixels positioned outermost. An LED includes a light emitting area, a non-light emitting area, sub pixels, dummy units(270), and an insulating film(260). The light emitting area and non-light emitting area are defined on a substrate(210). The sub pixels include light-emitting layers(240) placed on common films(245) positioned between first electrodes(220) and second electrodes(250) on the substrate(210). The dummy units(270) are placed at an outer side more distant than the sub pixels which are placed outside among the sub pixels, and have the common films(245) on the upper part. The insulating film(260) is placed on the substrate(210), has openings(265) at the upper part of the first electrodes(220), and covers the upper side of the dummy units(270) in more than half. The sub pixels are placed on the light emitting area. The dummy units(270) are placed on the non-light emitting area. The insulating film(260) is placed on the light emitting area and the non-light emitting area. |
