PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent reproduced picture with less memory capacity by dividing a video signal into a luminance signal and a chrominance signal, compressing the chroma signal and writing them respectively into a memory block. CONSTITUTION:The video signal obtained at an input terminal 11 is separated into a luminance signal Y and a chroma signal C by a comb-line filter 13, a right eye luminance signal is stored to memories 31, 32 and a left eye luminance signal is stored in memories 61, 62 from the luminance signal Y via an A/D converter 14. The chroma signal C is compressed by a prescribed ratio via an amplifier 15, a decoder 16, low pass filters 17, 18 and A/D converters 19, 20, the right color difference signal is stored to the memories 33, 34 via a switch circuit 21 and the left eye color difference signal is stored in memories 63, 64. The left eye video signal written in the memories 61-64 and the right eye video signal written in the memories 31-34 are read alternately by each field and read at the field frequency being twice the field frequency of the original video signal or over under the control of the memory controller 30. |
