PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump for improving the fuel discharge efficiency.SOLUTION: The high pressure pump includes an upper housing 15 having a suction passage communicated with a compression chamber of a cylinder, a valve seat 43 provided in the suction passage of the upper housing 15, and having a communication path 431 communicating the side of the compression chamber with the side opposite to the compression chamber and a seat surface 432, a suction valve member 44 for, when abutting on the seat surface 432, shutting off the flow of fuel between the communication path 431 and the compression chamber, and for, when leaving from the seat surface 432, permitting the flow of the fuel between the communication path 431 and the compression chamber, a bottomed cylindrical member 45 provided on the valve seat 43 at the side of the compression chamber, and a spring 49 provided between the bottomed cylindrical member 45 and the suction valve member 44, and capable of energizing the suction valve member 44 to the side of the valve seat 43. The bottomed cylindrical member 45 formed separately from the valve seat 43 has a sliding part 46 slidable against an outer edge 443 of the suction valve member 44 for guiding the suction valve member 44 to be moved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
