PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type display device that allows external light having a polarization characteristic to be recognized without extreme reduction in luminance or coloring even when configuring a see-through type optical system employing materials different in a reflection transmission characteristic with respect to polarized light.SOLUTION: After a transmission type display device is put into a state where a polarization characteristic of external light HL is resolved by an adhesion layer CC serving as a polarization resolution member PC arranged on an external side distant from a light guide area of video light GL, the video light GL and the external light HL are configured to be visually recognized with the video light GL and the external light HL overlapped in a half mirror layer 15 serving as a semi-transmission reflection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
