A milk product containing antibodies is prepared by administering an antigen to a milkgiving animal to cause formation of antibodies and subsequently removing a milk product containing the antibodies from the animal, the first removal of milk product being from 3 to 30 hours after the first administration of antigen. The milk product may be removed until the antibody content thereof is negligible. Antibodies may be extracted from the milk product preferably by separating the milk product into a cream and skimmed milk phase and extracting from the cream phase. Foodstuffs comprise the milk product or the antibodies in admixture with conventional foodstuff ingredients, e.g. condensed milk, milk powder, cream, yogourt, butter, bread and special baby or children's food. |
