The two frame parts of the snow chain are tensioned by a lever (6) controlled clamp, with this lever hinged in a support bracket (3) by a short hinged lever (5). The end of a hand lever has a pressure roller (9) which rolls along one end part of the snow chain, while a hook (10) grips a toothed claw (2) on the other part of the snow chain and pulls it in. The ends of the chain are easily located over each other. The control lever provides a low effort tightener which is secured by a safety catch (8) to lock the lever flat onto brackets. PS.
