<p>The electrode for a medical device for applying stimulation to the skin of a patient using a electrical current, is circular. It has a foil layer (1) with a finger (6) projecting from it, for connection to an electric supply cable. This is located on a porous layer (3) which is impregnated with an electrolyte. This porous layer (3) and an adhesive (4) which fills its pores, forms a barrier for gases generated by the electrolysis action on the conductive foil. The pressure releases them from the foil layer (1), forming a gas collection space. The porous layer (3) is connected to the foil layer only at points by the adhesive.</p> |
