PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a fuel supply system, by using a preheater to heat mixed fuel consisting of gasoline and alcohol, to separate them from each other and by using a transformer to transmute alcohol and by supplying the resultant of the transmutation together with liquid gasoline to an engine. CONSTITUTION:Mixed fuel sent out from a tank 1 enters into a preheater 3 after the flow rate of fuel is controlled. In the preheater 3, the fuel is divided into gaseous alcohol and liquid gasoline. Liquid gasoline taken out from the lower part of the preheater 3 is mixed with air at a prescribed air fuel ratio by a gasoline supply means 6 so that the mixture is fed to an engine. The gaseous alcohol taken out from the upper part of the preheater 3 is conducted to a transformer 4 in which a catalyst is provided. In the transformer 4, alcohol is changed into gas comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide. The gas is mixed with air at a prescribed air fuel ratio by an alcohol transformation gas supply means 5 so that the mixture is also fed to the engine. |
