摘要

A novel crystalline zirconium oxide powder has a BET specific surface of less than 30 (pref. 10-20) sq.m./g., a primary particle size of 0.1-0.5 microns, a monoclinic crystal structure and opt. a content of 1-10 wt. % Y2O3 and/or 1-10 wt. % MqO. Prodn. of the powder involves addinq an aq. Zr salt soln., opt. contg. Y and/or Mq ions, with stirrinq to an aq. base soln., e.q. caustic soda with an NaOH excess correspondinq to 0.5 mol/lNaOH, hydrothermally treating the reaction mixt. at 200-400 deg. C, filtering off the resulting product, water washinq free of chloride and drying at 10O-120 deg. C.
