PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a hazardous gas sufficiently, by reacting a chlorinous gas and a sulfur oxide gas with a hazardous constituent treating agent so as to produce a harmless chloride and sulfite. SOLUTION: In a heat treatment furnace 2 a decomposition gas containing HCl and SOx constituents is produced, but the HCl and SOx constituents are immediately reacted with sodium hydrocarbonate so as to produce harmless sodium chloride (NaCl) and sulfite (Na2 SO3 ) so that HCl and SOx are separated from the combustion gas. Thus, detoxification of the HCl and SOx constituents and detoxification of residue are simultaneously carried out. The residue is taken out by a residue treatment means 4 and washed with water or other solutions, so as to separate and remove sodium chloride and sulfite from the residue. Thus, part of the remaining residue contains useful metals and effective recycling becomes possible.
|
