PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush-holding device whose operability for assembling is enhanced. SOLUTION: The brush-holding device has a brush holder base 3, a brush holder 4 fitted to the holder base 2, a brush 1 which is inserted into the brush holder 4 and has a pigtail 6 connected to the brush, and a terminal 5 which is fitted to the holder base 2 and is connected to the pigtail 6. A pigtail support 3 is fitted to the holder base 2, and interposes and holds the end part of the pigtail 6 in between. The pigtail 6 and the terminal 5 are connected, between the interposing and holding part of the pigtail supporter for the pigtail and its connection with the brush.
