In response to a print request from any one (e.g. a host (301)) of a plurality of hosts (301-303), the state of printer (printable state, load condition, and the like) is inquired by broadcast system for a plurality of printers (101-103), a printer performing printing (e.g. the printer (101)) is selected from among printers replied to the inquiry and then the selected printer performs printing.
