<p>The device has a servo motor (6) coupled with a gear rack (5), where the motor is designed as a piston-cylinder unit with two cylindrical chambers (9, 10). Steering limiting valves (20, 21) reduce hydraulic steering assistance by the unit in two steering directions such that pressure of hydraulic fluid in the chambers is reduced. The valves are actuated by the rack, during a preset linear movement of the rack, and each cylinder is connected with a hydraulic line (12, 13). A hydraulic by-pass is produced between the chambers and the lines, and the fluid is pumped through the by-pass.</p> |
