An image processing apparatus is provided to rotate image data at various angles to improve the performance and reliability of the image processing apparatus. An image processing apparatus includes a memory(10), a receiving DMA(Direct Memory Access) unit(40), a first image rotator(60), a second image rotator(70), a transmission DMA unit(80), and a controller(50). The memory stores image data corresponding to a single image. The receiving DMA unit directly accesses the memory to load the image data as pixel data. The first image rotator receives a block composed of a plurality of pixel data signals from the receiving DMA and rotates the pixel data of the block. The second image rotator receives each pixel data from the receiving DMA and rotates the pixel data. The transmission DMA unit directly accesses the memory and stores the image data processed by the first or second image rotator. The controller determines an image rotator to be used to rotate data based on an angle at which the image data is rotated to control an image rotating operation.
