The method involves receiving parameters of vehicle dynamic data by a control module. The control module controls the parameter of accident signal form an individual protection medium (PS). The control module has a vehicle motion monitor. The vehicle motion monitor assigns vehicle dynamics data by a statistical analysis of a crash scenario and selects parameter as a function of the crash scenario. An independent claim is also included for a controller for controlling individual protection medium.
