PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting element which has improved luminous efficiency.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a semiconductor light emitting element comprises: a semiconductor layer including a first semiconductor layer of a first conductivity type, a second semiconductor layer of a second conductivity type and a luminescent layer provided between the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer; an electrode pad provided adjacent to the semiconductor layer; a first electrode which has one end connected to the electrode pad and linearly extends from the electrode pad to be connected with the first semiconductor layer; a second electrode connected with the second semiconductor layer; and a layer which is provided between part of the first semiconductor layer and part of the first electrode and has a conductivity lower than that of the first electrode. In the first electrode, an electrode width which is a length in a direction perpendicular to the extension direction is reduced and a connection area with the first electrode is decreased as the distance from the electrode pad increases.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
