PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting diode which is excellent in light extraction efficiency and excellent even in reliability by suppressing long-term deterioration of a sealing layer, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a light-emitting diode which includes: a substrate 20; a light emission part 22 formed on the substrate; a sealing layer 10 covering the light emission part: and a coating layer 12 which is formed by a separate material different from a constituent material of the sealing layer. On the surface of the coating layer, a moth eye structure is constructed having an uneven constitution period of 50 nm or more and 350 nm or less and the aspect ratio of 0.8 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
