The invention relates to a robot intended to be used in a library, with a view to accessing information within a book and/or a magazine and offering said information to a customer who has access to a computer within a network or to the Internet. According to the invention, the robot consists of a framework (SCM) on which there is an assembly comprising a vertical bar (BV) and a manipulation and reading head (CMC), and which is located on a mobile unit (UM) placed on some rails (SE) meant to provide electric power supply to an electric motor (ME), where the mobile unit (UM) works along with a video camera (CV), as well as with a positioning emitter-receiver (ERP) meant to identify the book, according to a label (RFID), and an arm (BEX) for extracting the book/magazine from the shelf moves it, after extraction, towards a manipulation-reading head (CMC) which also achieves the scanning of the desired pages. |
