PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method, which can accurately estimate the PSF (point spread function) unique to each lens.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes an image pickup element, an image extraction unit, a reference image generation unit, an estimation unit, and a synthesis unit. The image pickup element images a diagram on a predetermined chart through an optical system, and converts the optical image formed by the optical system into electric signals. The image extraction unit extracts the formed image representing the diagram on the chart for each pixel in the pixel array of the image pickup element. The reference image generation unit generates a reference image corresponding to the diagram on the chart. The estimation unit estimates the point spread function so that the image obtained by applying the point spread function to the reference image approximates to the formed image for each pixel in the pixel array. The synthesis unit synthesizes the point spread functions of the same-color component among the point spread functions estimated by the estimation unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
