[Also in Division H1] In a modular electrical circuit unit, each of a pair of spaced mutually parallel connectors 101 (only one being shown in Fig. 8) comprises an insulating body provided with parallel slots 110 which receive contact bearing edges of printed circuit panels 100. Recesses 111 in the connectors 101 house contacts 115, each of which comprises two spring arms 116 anchored at each end by interlocking bridge portions 118 and provided centrally with outwardly bowed portions 117 which extend through opposed apertures in the connector body to contact terminal pads 60 on printed circuit panels 100, and printed wiring 122 on one side of a flexible printed circuit 102 located against the far side of the connector. Monitor connectors 108 comprise panels 133 having double-armed spring contacts 136a housed in cavities 135 therein, outwardly bowed portions 137 of the arms extending through opposed openings 138, 144 in the panel. When monitoring, contact portions 137 latch into appropriate slots 141 in the inner wall of an outer housing 103, and also contact wiring 121 on the other side of flexible printed circuit 102. The contacts 136a are provided with terminal posts (142, Fig. 9, not shown) to which wire-wrapped connections are made to testing instruments. Input connectors similar to the monitor connectors are also provided. |
